airborne operations
Operations involving movement and delivery by air, into an objective area, of combat forces and their logistics support for execution of a tactical or a strategic mission. The means employed may be a combination of airborne units, air-transportable units, and types of transport aircraft and helicopters, depending on the mission and the overall situation. Airborne operations include air-landed and airborne assault operations.
